About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre in Brighton is a 75 place long day care centre, located just past Jetty Road Brighton. We are close to schools, shops and transport routes. Our convenient spot is handy for families who work in the city but live near the beautiful beach area. Our centre is set back from the main road which keeps the children from being close to the road when enjoying their outdoor nature play areas.

We provide high quality education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. Using the Early Years Learning Framework to guide our education program and scaffold children’s learning, our educators are passionate and committed to providing nurturing and simulating early learning environment. With a strong commitment and focus to create a warm and welcoming community focused centre we look forward to building and maintaining meaningful and true relationships with all our families and children.

It is such a big step for our children to embark on their school journey, and it is so greatly appreciated that the care, learning and support the children have received during their time at Goodstart Brighton, continued right up until their last day. I have no doubt that all of these elements have positively contributed to son’s development and will hold him in great stead as he now embarks on his next chapter at school. I moved my son (2.5 years old) to Goodstart Brighton over a year ago after quite a negative experience at another daycare. I was extremely nervous about the transition but Mel and the team at Brighton made it super easy. My son absolutely loves it and is given the love and attention he did not receive at our previous centre. This centre is not the most convenient having to travel the opposite direction from my work/home each day. But it’s 100% worth the extra 15 minutes before and after work. Everyday before I pick my son up I watch him through the window smiling, dancing and having fun with his friends. 100% recommend.

Melissa Butvila

Centre Director

Hi, My name is Melissa Butvila and I am the Centre Director for Goodstart Brighton, Brighton Road.

I have worked in the Early Learning and Child Care sector for more than 20 years, and been with Goodstart since its inception. During my years in the sector, I have worked as an educator across all ages ranging from birth to five, taking on roles as Team Leader, Assistant Director and now the newly appointed role as Centre Director.

I am a mother to an amazing daughter and I am very passionate about early learning and watching children grow through the many opportunities provided to them in our centre.

I am supported by a team of professional, experienced educators and teachers who are dedicated to providing the best care and education for each and every one of the children we have the privilege of welcoming into our centre family.

I am really looking forward to meeting you and your family and supporting your child’s learning and development.
