Big hearts raise money for Tamworth Relay for Life

Goodstart centres

On Saturday 1 April, Goodstart educators and families united with locals in Tamworth for the town’s annual Cancer Council fundraising event, Relay for Life.

Goodstart Tamworth – Hercules Street was on a mission and with the help of their families, they have raised an impressive $5,233 which will help support those who lives are affected by cancer.

Centre director Chloe Speck said they were overjoyed their fundraising efforts far exceeded their expectations.

“We are a small team of 11 educators and we all helped raise money as well as all stayed to relay over the 20 hours that the event was on, so I’m incredibly proud of our team,” Chloe said.

“Our families were behind us all the way and they joined us on the day to relay with us, so it was a real sense of everyone coming together to support a wonderful cause which sadly affects too many people in our community.”

Leading up to the event, Goodstart Tamworth organised pie drives, chocolate drives, raffles, as well as held numerous dress up days in the centre to raise money for their Relay for Life team.
