Goodstart opens its doors

Goodstart centres

From the bush to the beach, Brisbane’s inner city to remote communities, Goodstart Early Learning centres are the hub of more than 200 communities throughout Queensland.

And to showcase them, we’re opening the doors to more than 200 of our Queensland centres as part of the Open House event to introduce families to early learning.

Held on February 19, for two hours in the evening, Goodstart will welcome families and their children who can enjoy the refreshments on offer and talk to educators about the service.

At Red Hill you can find out about the popular tea ceremony, Chef Lou will prepare gourmet food at Adelaide St, and you can find out all about our award-winning bush kinder program at Nambour City View Terrace.

At Queensland’s newest service Baringa, parents can get an insight into the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) program, at Beachmere, the beach kinder program will be in the spotlight and Kanimbla will showcase its very own water park.

Morningside Junction Road will host a sausage sizzle to raise money for Townsville flood relief, and Indooroopilly York St will unveil its new food offering and menu.

Each centre will also develop play experiences to give the children a taste of what a day is like with the Goodstart team.

Goodstart Early Learning is Australia’s largest social enterprise and is committed to ensuring all children have access to quality early learning and care to ensure they have the outcomes they need for school and life.

Children who attend Goodstart have access to a wider network of specialists including speech therapists and child and family practitioners.

Goodstart regional manager Cassy Baker said the Open House events were designed to give families a chance to ask questions, meet educators and directors and have a look around.

“It’s all about opening our doors and giving people who work during the day the chance to have a look around without having to worry about taking time off work,” Ms Baker said.

“It’s also a great chance to meet other families in the community.”

“Whether you’re looking to enroll in 2019, or your child already attends a Goodstart centre, this is a great opportunity to meet your child’s educators and hear about the centre’s approach to early learning.”
