Making a confident start in life the aim

Goodstart stories

Around the country, families are experiencing mixed emotions as they prepare to send their child to kindergarten, the vital last stage of their journey to school.

This year, Goodstart Early Learning is expecting to welcome 10,000 children into their national kindergarten and preschool program which is designed to give children all the skills they need for a confident start to school life next year.

A Goodstart spokesperson said: “It’s an exciting time as we prepare to welcome new children to our kindergarten program. It’s also a special time for children already enrolled in the centre who are transitioning into a new room – for many it will be their ‘final’ transition in an early learning setting before commencing formal schooling.

“We know this transition between rooms, and the transition to school, is an important and memorable time for children and their families and we work very hard to ensure the transition is as smooth and positive as possible for everyone involved."

Across all Goodstart centres, play-based learning programs are delivered in a fun, active and nurturing setting that fosters curiosity about the world and interaction with other children. For Goodstart’s passionate educators, it’s about establishing a love for learning from an early age.

Goodstart’s accredited kindergarten and preschool program, designed and delivered by university-qualified teachers, focuses on developing children’s self-confidence as well as their social skills and independence. Language and literacy skills, basic mathematical and scientific concepts are also introduced, typically through fun activities that are led by children’s individual special interests.

Kindergarten programs delivered in a long-day care environment, such as Goodstart, offer greater flexibility and convenience for working families by providing wrap-around care to suit individual family’s needs as they offered over five days and not restricted to a 9am-3pm program.

To enquire about vacancies, families are encouraged to contact their local Goodstart centre to arrange a centre tour or contact Goodstart’s family support team on 1800 222 543.
