Neighbourhood benefits from donations

Goodstart centres

Educators and families at Goodstart North Lakes Winn Street have rallied to help donate food to the local community.

Senior educator Bec Greeshaw from Goodstart North Lakes Winn Street said the Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre had asked for supplies for their food pantry.

“Our neighbourhood centre was looking for donations of cereal, milk, tinned food, crackers, baby formula and baby wipes, to give to families and individuals that were really struggling and needed food to get them through one night,” Ms Greeshaw said.

“When we saw the Facebook post we decided we needed to do something to give back to our community.”

“We asked all of our families for pantry donations and in just a week we had eight shopping bags ready to be delivered and shared with the local community,” she said.

Bags were filled with a range of foods and personal care items and was to be shared among families in need.

“The Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre does a wonderful job to support and care for people and families in our local community and we are so pleased Goodstart is able to help contribute to the important service they provide,” Ms Greeshaw said.

“Since our donation we’ve manage to create a great community partnership with the neighbourhood centre and we look forward to continuing to work with them to support families within our local community.”
