The Avengers assemble at Goodstart for SA Variety Bash fundraiser

Goodstart centres

Earth’s mightiest heroes will bring their super hero powers to children in the community when they visit Goodstart Blakeview on Monday 19 June.

Goodstart’s super hero fundraising day is to support Car 98 “Avengers”, one of the cars taking part in this year’s Variety SA Bush to raise money for children who are sick, disadvantaged, or who have additional needs.

Children, friends and families of Goodstart will  have the chance to meet the ‘avengers’ and have a look at the car they will be travelling in this August on their 2,500km journey from Mount Barker to the finish line in Mount Gambier.

Goodstart Blakeview centre director Melissa Griffiths said Goodstart was excited to be rallying their support for an exceptional cause.

“We really wanted to do something as a company to help Car 98 on their way, and we are proud to say we have 11 Goodstart centres who have come onboard and together with our families, we hope to be able to help them to reach their $20,000 target,” Ms Griffiths said.

“The Variety children’s charity does vital work to support children and their families who are facing challenging times. All children should be able to follow their dreams and be the best they can be, no matter what life throws at them.

“Our Goodstart children are busy writing letters and drawing pictures that will be handed to the avengers on our super hero day.  We are all very excited to be involved and looking forward to following the team on their journey.”

Goodstart Mount Gambier is also putting in a huge effort to ensure the fundraising efforts are a success. They have organised an event at their centre for the whole community, which will help to raise money for team Car 98, and they will also play a special role in helping to deliver the letters chidlren are writing for the Avengers.

The super hero event on 19 June will run from 11am to 1pm and is open to all families of Goodstart with a gold coin donation for the sausage sizzle. There will also be lanyards and snap bands available to purchase on the day with all money going to Car 98.

The following Goodstart centres are taking part in this fundraising event:

Goodstart Blakeview, Goodstart Elizabeth Vale, Goodstart Evanston Park, Goodstart Gawler South, Goodstart Nuriootpa, Goodstart Parafields Gardens, Goodstart Paralowie – Byron Bay Drive, Goodstart Paralowie – Yalumba Drive, Goodstart Penfield, Goodstart Salisbury North, and Goodstart Smithfield.

The iconic Variety Bash journey begins in Mount Barker and is the only motoring event in Australia that supports children in need on the road. For more information, visit the official website.
