Giving@Goodstart for Australia's children
All Goodstart employees and board members have the opportunity to help children who need it the most thanks to a new workplace giving scheme called Giving@Goodstart.
Giving@Goodstart will allow all of us to support our own Early Learning Fund (ELF) that identifies and supports young children who might otherwise miss out on essential early learning.
Workplace giving is a powerful way to make a difference. If everyone us donates just $1 per week we could keep hundreds of children – who most need our help – in our quality early learning centres for the two years before school, said CEO Julia Davison.
“The beauty of Giving@Goodstart is that everyone across the organisation - from educators to the executive team have the opportunity to contribute a small amount to help children thrive and launch into learning with ELF’s preschool scholarships,” Ms Davison said.
“Not all of the nation’s children currently get the Government help they need to attend early learning and we created the ELF to solve that problem – it’s helped hundreds of children experiencing sudden hardship, children from refugee families and those who are vulnerable and some children from Indigenous backgrounds.
“To receive an ELF scholarship families must have already exhausted all government funds – or not be eligible to receive them in the first place.
“We know that when we come together there is no limit to what we can achieve or overcome, which is why we’re so proud that Goodstart’s new workplace giving program will be supporting a project so close to all of our hearts."
The ELF is now supported by four of the nation’s leading not-for-profits; the Benevolent Society, C&K Childcare and Kindergarten, Goodstart Early Learning and Uniting. Data collected by ELF partners will be used to help lobby governments around Australia to do more to support children experiencing hardship.
“Now it is our chance to support the vital work ELF is doing,” Ms Davison said.
“Please join me in getting on board for this wonderful cause – so many of our centre staff spend every working day going above a beyond for the children in our centres – Giving@Goodstart helps us all take the next step in our commitment to the nation’s children.
“I invite all staff to get on board this wonderful cause and contribute in the knowledge they can and will make the lives of Australian children happier and healthier.”
