New playgroup for all in the community

Goodstart centres

Are you a parent with a child under the age of five and looking for a safe and fun environment for your child to play and learn with other children where you can meet and socialise with other parents?

If so, have you considered joining a community playgroup? Playgroups provide a great network for parents, carers, babies and children up to school age to come together in a relaxed and friendly environment to connect, play and learn.

Goodstart Kin Kora has established a new free playgroup which is open to the community. Sessions are held every Friday in the centre from 10-11am and activities include indoor and outdoor childcare experiences.

Centre director Shae Young said the activities would be child-friendly and in some instances child-initiated and would encourage a love for learning with a focus on building a child’s social skills and confidence.

“We believe that the first five years are the most important in a child’s life and we want to encourage school readiness at the same time as providing fun experiences for all children,” Mrs Young said.

“Our team is excited to be offering a community playground within the centre to support parents in the community, particularly those who are vulnerable or who may be experiencing some challenges with parenting. This is a great way for parents to share parenting experiences and make new friends.”

To register your interest, please contact the Goodstart Kin Kora on (07) 4978 4688 or drop in to the centre on 79 Sunvalley Road in Kin Kora to speak with a staff member.
