Childcare relief for inner-city families in Brisbane

Goodstart centres

Families who live or work in Brisbane have welcomed a brand new 209-place early learning centre offering convenient access to long day care and kindergarten in the heart of the city.

Catering for children aged from six weeks to five years old, Goodstart Brisbane – Adelaide Street will help to ease the high demand for inner-city childcare when it opens later this year, bringing relief for working families.

For Danielle Mathers and her husband Reuben who live in Fortitude Valley, finding suitable childcare for their 15 month-old son Micah has allowed Danielle to return to full time work after being on maternity leave.

“Juggling work and motherhood can be so challenging. Without the flexibility and convenience of finding the right childcare, it would have been nearly impossible for me to re-enter the workforce,” said Ms Mathers, an administration officer with Queensland Health.

“The convenience of being able to access a childcare centre close to work was definitely a significant factor when it came to finding suitable care for Micah,” Ms Mathers said.

“I had a tour of Goodstart’s Fortitude Valley centre and really liked it and a friend has her son at a Goodstart centre and loves it, so it seemed like a natural choice. The fees are reasonable, the location is ideal and I’m excited he’ll get to attend a brand new centre.

“As a first-time mum, this is my first experience with Goodstart and I found it easy and smooth to enrol, which was great.

“Micah loves to be social and wave and talk to everyone, he loves to paint and draw and sit and figure out how things work, he also likes to go off and explore the environment around him, so I’m looking forward to seeing how much he thrives in an early learning environment,” she said.

Featuring a secure, private rooftop playground overlooking Queen Street Mall and with 14 separate age-based learning spaces, Goodstart’s newest centre will offer a natural oasis in the city for children to grow, learn, play and develop the skills and confidence they need for school.

Interested families can arrange a tour of the new centre by contacting Goodstart’s family support team on 1800 222 543.
