Muswellbrook Regional Art Centre hosted a different kind of show last month when the pre-schoolers at Goodstart Muswelbrook exhibited their plant and flower works inspired by Van Gogh.
During a five-week period, the children were shown Van Gogh artworks on the centre iPads and then created paintings on canvasses based on the piece that most inspired them.
The exhibition opening night was a great success with members of the community joining children and their families to marvel at the colourful collection.
The exhibition has received great feedback— most importantly from the children, who were proud to have created something that was valued by their educators, families and the community.
The centre is now planning to further develop the relationship with the Art Centre, including possibly applying for a regional grant to benefit young children in the visual arts.
