Goodstart Somerton Park opens its doors

Goodstart centres

The new Goodstart Somerton Park centre opened this week and celebrated a Family Fun Day event for the local community on 11 November.

The centre team invited new families and community friends to join them in an afternoon of face painting, dancing and balloon art to explore the new centre.

Centre Director Natasha Olrich enjoyed meeting new families and the opportunity to showcase her beautiful centre to families.

“It was fantastic to celebrate our centre with our local community. The farm yard and face painting were very popular! It was great to see so many current families, waitlist families and general public come out for the event.”

Located on Oaklands Road, 10km from Adelaide’s CBD, the new centre has 100 places and provides purpose-built and naturally inspired learning spaces as well as two age-based outdoor playgrounds.

Each of the learning spaces has direct access to the landscaped outdoor environment which allows children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor space. Children have access to many outdoor play experiences including a water and mud kitchen, and fairy garden.

Goodstart’s South Australian State Manager Paula Pittam is excited about the new centre and has high praise for the team.

“Interest in the centre has been high and we’re already seeing strong enrolments. We’re lucky to have Natasha who is an experienced Centre Director and qualified teacher.”

There are three qualified teachers on board at Somerton Park, alongside an experienced and motivated team.

“The team has been on board for a few weeks gearing up for this week’s opening and we are really excited about not only providing a state-of-the-art service for children and families, but also employment opportunities for people in the local community.”
