Competitive Employment Conditions

Our Enterprise Agreement was approved by the Fair Work Commission. It covers our centre employees, so you can be confident our pay and conditions are locked in. Our Enterprise Agreement ensures that most conditions exceed the industry award, offering enhanced terms and job security. 

  • From 2 December 2024, all eligible Goodstart Educators, Teachers, Centre Directors, Assistant Directors, Cooks, and Administration Assistants received a 10% wage increase based on the award rate from the Federal Government wage increase, with a further 5% coming in December 2025.
  • In addition, Educators and Cooks receive at least 5% above the award rate.
  • We pay Teachers on par with state primary schools. Graduate Teachers receive an $80,000 starting salary.
  • Assistant Directors receive at least 7% above the award rate.
  • We pay Centre Directors 12% above award.
  • Extra allowances: We reward those with more responsibility. This applies to Educational Leaders, Teacher Mentors, and Centre Directors who are also the nominated Teacher.

Family Support:

  • 50% Discount off your Child Care gap fee: Available to Teachers, Educators, Cooks, and Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) qualified Centre Directors (with no impact on your Child Care Subsidy rate).
  • 15-30% Discount off your Child Care gap fee:: Offered to other permanent employees.
  • Paid Parental Leave: Up to 6 weeks of paid parental leave.

Health and Wellbeing Support:

  • Wellbeing Days: Two additional wellbeing days included in personal leave so you can put yourself first.
  • Health Insurance and Fitness Discounts: An 8% discount on private health insurance through Bupa and 10% off memberships with Snap Fitness.
  • Wellbeing Program: Access to a comprehensive wellbeing program through Telus.
  • Telehealth and Counselling Support: Health and wellbeing support via our independent telehealth partner, Axis, and 24/7 access to free, independent counselling through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Financial and Household Support: Access to household relief services and free financial wellness advice.

Comprehensive leave entitlements:

You'll get annual leave plus a broad range of other paid leave entitlements including: 

  • Personal / carer’s leave
  • Up to six weeks paid parental leave
  • Compassionate leave
  • Community service leave
  • Paid Family and Domestic Violence leave: 10 days of paid leave.
  • Cultural leave: Up to 5 days of leave per year for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander employees for ceremonial purposes, including Sorry Business.
  • Option to purchase four weeks additional leave each year.

Salary Packaging

  • Novated Lease and Salary Packaging: Options available through AccessPay to help maximise your take-home pay.

  • Travel and Accommodation Discounts: Discounts on lounge memberships with Virgin and Qantas, car hire, and accommodation, including up to 20% off stays at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and G’Day Parks.

  • Fuel Discounts: Save 6-8 cents per litre on fuel at Freedom Fuels across South East Queensland.

Referral Program

  • Employee Referral Bonus: Earn $500 for referring centre-based employees, paid after a 3-month probation period.
