Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Albury is located in a residential area close to schools, shops and local amenities.

We are committed to providing the highest standard of care within a warm, friendly atmosphere that nurtures every child. We aim to create a child centred, inclusive environment where families and staff work in partnership to create a positive, nurturing and safe early learning experience in which all children feel free to explore and discover.

Inside, all of the rooms - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.

Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

We value and respect family contributions and opinions, and by encouraging open communication between staff, families and children, we hope to build respect and trust for each other.We look forward to welcoming you to our centre.

Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. We have mudpits, sandpits, climbing equipment, manmade and natural play surfaces, garden beds, vege patches and bike tracks.

We also have a cook at the centre providing tasty and nutritious meals for the children when tummies start to growl.

Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.

Our service is known for providing children with experiences and spaces that are environmentally friendly. We pride ourselves in high quality sustainable practice throughout the centre. Educators and children participate in recycling, composting, gardening and water conservation. We also provide children with loose parts play that gives them opportunity to explore and be creative.

Hi, I’m Michelle Macdonald and I’m the Centre Director here at Goodstart Albury Pemberton st.

I have been part of the Goodstart Pemberton Street team since 2011, beginning my career as the centre chef and growing into a range of roles that led me to Centre Director.

My practice is grounded in the belief that children are capable, curious learners who thrive in environments that nurture their whole development—social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual.

I am deeply passionate about sustainability and creating meaningful connections between children and the natural world. I believe that when children feel attuned to their environment, they learn to be present, responsible, and connected. As a leader, I strive to build a warm, collaborative culture where educators feel supported, families feel valued, and children experience a strong sense of belonging.

A little more about me:
When I’m not in the centre, you’ll find me spending time with my family, gardening, hiking, painting, cooking or at my local community garden.

Our preschool teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

With multi-child discounts and government funded Kindergarten/Preschool in some states, out-of-pocket costs could be even less than you think!

The above fees are effective from 7 July 2025 and are based on a 10 hour session, for attendance between 2 and 4 days per week. 5 day bookings receive a generous discount per day. Note that different combinations of sessions times and number of days can increase or decrease the daily rate.

* Estimates are calculated based on CCS rates as of January 2026, for an activity level of 72 activity hours on a 10hr session and a 3 day booking.
