About our centre

Welcome to Goodstart Banksia Grove

Goodstart Banksia Grove are proudly rated as ‘Exceeding’ in all seven areas of the National Quality Standard. We provide a safe, homely environment, where every child and their family feel valued and included.

Our highly qualified and experienced educators, who have worked together for years, create a rich and consistent space for your child to thrive.

With an exceptional play-based learning program, educational excursions, strong community connections, and a vast, natural, outdoor space for exploration, we offer the perfect environment for your child to grow and be ready to start school.

Our Early Learning Child Care Centre is situated in a prime location next to Banksia Grove Primary School on Viridian Drive. We have parking to the front of the building and a bus stop directly beside us - so that takes a lot of the stress out of the daily drop-off and pick-up!

We provide care and education for children from 6 weeks to five years of age. We have strong links with the local community and are looking forward to the addition of a child and parent centre that is being built in our street for families to utilise and access.

We warmly welcome new families and invite you to book a tour of our beautiful centre. We would love to explore how we can support you and your child on their pathway to lifelong learning.

What makes Goodstart Banksia Grove so special?

  • What does this mean for your family? It means your centre exceeds national expectations in at least four of the following seven areas:

    •  Educational program and practice

    •  Children's health and safety

    •  Physical environment

    •  Staffing arrangements

    •  Relationships with children

    •  Collaborative partnerships with families and communities

    •  Leadership and governance

In short, an Exceeding rating is the gold standard for centres, and we've got seven out of seven.

  • Yep, we have our own bus! This means we can go where we like when we like! We can take our children on fantastic excursions, and our school holidays program is action-packed and hit with everyone!

  • We love our community of children, families, and educators. We're a curious bunch, and we regularly invite parents and grandparents into the centre for show-and-tell, as we value building community and connection and sharing our family's stories.

  • Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote Key Educator relationships between our educators and children.

Your child will have at least one Key Educator who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. We keep families informed with regular updates on their child's progress and we welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

  • At Goodstart, we believe all children deserve the best possible start in life, which includes access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We offer:

    •  Discounts on multiple days

    •  All day sessions

    •  Discounted shorter sessions

    •  Fee assistance programs for families that need support

  • Our play-based kindergarten program is guided by the Early Years’ Learning Framework (EYLF). Our colourful, engaging programs follow each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; ensuring our children confident and ready to take the big step into schooling.

Lynne Scotland

Centre Director

Hi, my name is Lynne and I’ve worked in the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector for over 20 years and am passionate about Early Years Education. I believe the first five years of a child’s life are a critical period and window of opportunity to set children up socially and emotionally for the rest of their life.

I have learnt that it is important to support children in a healthy environment. We surround our children with positive, sensitive and nurturing relationships. This will ensure children can flourish as they sense a feeling of safety and belonging in our settings. Good relationships with families are important to me and are in the child’s best interest.

One of the most important aspects of my role is to help ensure that every family and child’s needs are met. Every family and child are unique, and I embrace this. I will ensure that your family feels supported and included into our programs and setting.

It’s important to me that our service is valued in the community and I have developed many community initiatives and partnerships that support our families and children, especially those who experience vulnerability.

Book a tour today so that we can show you our centre and meet our team.
