Goodstart Banksia Grove

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Banksia Grove is situated in a prime location next to Banksia Grove Primary School and directly behind the local community centre on Viridian Drive. We have parking to the front of the building and a bus stop directly beside us - so that takes a lot of the stress out of the daily drop-off and pick-up! 

The centre was built in 2009 and is part of a growing community with many new homes and amenities being built, including a new high school and shopping centre.

Our centre provides care and education for children from 6 weeks to five years of age. We have strong links with the local community and are looking forward to the addition of a child and parent centre that is being built in our street for families to utilise and access.

We have permanent educators at the centre who have been with Goodstart Banksia Grove for many years, ensuring continuity for our families and children. Our children’s individual interests and goals are the focus of our educational programs in which our educators scaffold learning through observations, experience, interest and skills.

Our play based, stimulating curriculum is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and our rooms – from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool – are all geared with this in mind. We also develop colourful, engaging programs accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.

Our centre was assessed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority and we received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’. This process is a National Framework, which rates all Childcare Centres across Australia against the National Quality Standards.

We use Storypark to share your child's learning. This industry leading program lets you see the learning experiences of your child and allows you to interact with educators to enable real connections between what your child learns at Goodstart Banksia Grove and what happens at home. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.

Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. We also maintain a strong focus on the importance of movement and physical health as well as the overall benefits of being active.

A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.

We are proud to have a culturally diverse group of families attending our centre and welcome all families to fully participate in our programs and centre events, ensuring everyone gets a sense of belonging and ownership. We strive to involve families through continuous communication and feedback and suggestions are always appreciated and taken on board.

We have a library room with information on parenting, community, and health that all families are welcome to use. Regular centre newsletters inform families of the centre’s progress and centre events along with information on what’s happening in and around the local area. We also hold information nights on subjects that families would like to explore. Families are encouraged to access and view our programming, learning stories, and daily reflections, giving families an insight into their child’s progress, interests, and goals.
