Goodstart Pooraka

Goodstart Pooraka is a small 55 place childcare centre located in the friendly community of Montague Farm, just off Montague Road and close to a small set of locally owned and operated businesses as well as Pooraka Farm Community Centre.

At Goodstart Pooraka, the team shares a vision to provide understanding that what each child and family needs is unique, so we strive to get to know each and every family so we can support their unique set of circumstances in the best way possible.

Our team of passionate and dedicated educators are able to provide the perfect balance of long-term experience with fresh new early childhood education and care concepts as we range in experience from 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 22 years - to 30 years of service! We are committed to providing inclusive programs for all children of all abilities and are highly skilled at supporting children with developmental delays, diagnosed disabilities, attachment needs and more and here for you if you need advice and support with referral pathways. We support the children to support each other and their differing needs, helping them to understand and celebrate differences and diversity in our centre community as we embed values of respect, empathy and kindness into our everyday practice.

We provide a Government Approved Pre-School Program year-round, run by our highly skilled University Qualified Early Childhood Teacher who is dedicated to supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing, play skills and self-help skills that are needed to ensure every child has the opportunity for a good start to school and life.

Our centre provides 5 meals a day that are all nutritious, delicious, and prepared fresh here daily and include a flexible routine so that you never have to worry about running too late to make it for breakfast, morning tea or lunch. We understand all families operate on different schedules and we are here to provide what it is each family needs from us, not a “one size fits all” model. 

Educators encourage children to enjoy a range of physical activities each day including both active and passive experiences, depending on the needs and energy levels of children on each day and we utilise our spacious outdoor spaces as an extension of the classroom throughout the day so children can choose which environment they prefer. Indoor and outdoor play is offered throughout most of the day simultaneously so it’s important to remember your warm clothes in winter and your SunSmart attire in the warmer months!

We believe wholeheartedly that families are our children’s first teachers, and we aim to provide support, compassion, advice and understanding so that we can partner together to help you feel confident that when your child enrols at Goodstart Pooraka, they really are being provided the best start to life.
