Goodstart Sydenham

Goodstart Sydenham is a 90 place child care centre, which has been operating since 2005. We endeavour to deliver the highest possible levels of care in early childhood education for children, aged six weeks to five years.

Our centre consists of 5 rooms and 3 generous sized yards.

We have a great team of highly experienced, dedicated and qualified professional educators; many whom have worked with us for over 10 years. Our educators are offered extensive training opportunities which foster ongoing professional development and excellence, in early childhood education. Additional in-house professional development is undertaken to support educators to learn and integrate issues affecting the communities in which the families and children live.

Goodstart Sydenham offers children stimulating experiences within a supportive and caring environment aimed at enhancing children’s understanding and appreciation of the world around them. Our spacious playground area is a stimulus for ‘hands on’ environmental experiences and provides a wonderful natural environment for children to explore.

We offer 2 years of kinder. That's two years of continued high-quality early learning, playing and making friends. Everything your child needs to feel ready for school.

Our Kindergarten Teacher holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Kindergarten benefits families as it means you can access to an accredited Kindergarten program within the long day care environment.

Our kindergarten program is developed to provide opportunities for your child to develop self confidence and self esteem, to practice creative problem solving skills, to be independent and to make choices, and to communicate effectively with others. Your child’s kindergarten year is preparation for their transition to primary school, such an important year in your child’s development.

We have a qualified cook who prepares fresh, healthy and nutritious meals for the children each day; including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. All meals are Halal approved and our cook is trained to cater for children with additional food requirements. 

We have great partnerships with experts in Early Years Education - literacy, maternal health nurses and the local primary and secondary schools.

We offer a range of free incursions throughout the year. For example, the fire brigade visited the centre, and spoke to the children about safe ways to evacuate the building and what to do, in case of a fire, the chicken hatching program, farm animals on the move, Wild Mobile Zoo.

At Goodstart Sydenham, we have excellent playgrounds with a variety of equipment for your children to play in and explore. We also have our own garden, where children plant a variety of fruit and vegetables. We have separate yards for Nursery children, the Toddler One and Two children and for the Pre Kinder and Kinder children.
