About Goodstart Early Learning
At Goodstart, we believe that children are central to everything we do. All of our philosophies, policies and learning frameworks are structured to engage children from all walks of life as they join the Goodstart community.
Founded in 2009, our not-for-profit organisation now supports more than 70,000 children from over 59,000 families nationwide, helping thousands of children learn and grow every day.
Babies from 6 weeks old through to kindergarten children are welcome at our early learning centres, with facilities designed for each age group within the preschool years. Once children are ready for kindergarten, they can engage in our Government-approved programs, which are structured to prepare children for primary school.
One of our key pillars of education is the concept of learning through play. This idea guides the interactions between educators and children, and each team member looks for opportunities to extend children’s personal interests and existing knowledge. This keeps every child interested and also helps them learn to love learning.
What to look for in an early learning centre
If you’ve visited any centres already, you’ll know not every centre is equal. Choosing childcare is a process, and there are many factors to consider along the way. You need to think about:
- what the overall vibe of the centre is like
- how the team members react and respond to you and the children
- the happiness of the children already enrolled
- the centre’s opening hours
- the physical environment of the facility
Of course, this is just the start – visiting prospective centres before filling out any enrolment forms is always recommended. This allows you to see the facilities firsthand and ask the educators as many questions as necessary to help you make your decision. Any reputable centre should welcome both a visit and any questions.
