Open day to celebrate new playground at Blackmans Bay

Goodstart centres

To celebrate their brand new playground, Goodstart Blackmans Bay is inviting families in the community to their open day on Saturday 29 July.

A range of activities will be available on the day including face-painting, arts and crafts and water play, and children will also have the opportunity to create their own hand-painted rock to take home with them. Morning tea will also be provided.

Centre director Emma Callanan said all families are welcome to take part in the day and find out more about the programs on offer at the centre.

“We’ve just had a major upgrade of our outside play spaces, so it’s a great time to welcome new families to the centre. Our team of dedicated educators will be there on the day to answer any questions parents might have, and we’ll also be offering centre tours on the day,” Ms Callanan said.

“At Goodstart, we aim to ensure all children have the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes they need for school and life, and our programs are catered to support each child’s individual needs and interests.

“We will also be celebrating with our current families who are coming along to support us – it’s a great way to keep children occupied and happy on a Saturday morning!”

Features of the new areas includes new sandpits, a timber boat, a teepee, a mud kitchen and water play area, a new slide and swing, natural and synthetic turf as well as many other features designed to encourage children’s creativity and independence. All new landscaped gardens provides a more natural feel to the centre, transforming it completely into a wonderful new haven for children to explore and play.

The open day will be held from 10am-noon at the centre, 11 Opal Drive in Blackmans Bay.
