Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre McKinnon is located in a safe and quiet residential area, close to local schools, shops, main roads and community facilities. We are also close to public transport links, making the daily drop-off and pick-up less stressful.

We are focussed on collaborating with families to create a supportive environment for each child in our care and each day we spend time talking with families and updating them on their child’s day.

We also have opportunities for families to talk about their child’s progress with early learning educators through two parent/teacher evenings a year. This is a great opportunity for families to discuss their child's development with the staff and to see photos, artwork and hear stories about the learning experiences their child has participated in.

Inside the centre, all of the rooms  - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.
 
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment and our. yard has just had an upgrade. We nurture an understanding of the environment and sustainability through our vege and herb gardens and our yards also feature stage areas, water tanks, decks, sandpits, a music wall, worm farm, rope and climbing areas, slides and trees for lots of shade.

Families tell us they love our special events including afternoon teas for Mother's and Father's Day, a graduation ceremony for children leaving to go to school, a Christmas party and a concert - just to name a few! We also have many families and educators from different cultural backgrounds and celebrate many events on our multicultural calendar. We welcome families to our centre at any time and some parents have kindly shared their special skills like playing music, German language lessons and Greek Easter egg dyeing.

Our educators, most who’ve been with us long-term, work very hard to create fun and engaging learning experiences that capture the children’s imaginations. These experiences are flexible enough for each child to learn and grow in their unique way. We also offer extra-curricular activities such as Computer Gym and Happy Feet Fitness and dance. All our educators are highly qualified, having a Certificate III or higher and four of our staff are Bachelor trained.
 
All meals are prepared on site by our qualified cook who uses tasty, fresh and nutritional ingredients – just the thing to keep hungry tummies satisfied.
