About our centre

Goodstart early Learning Child Care Centre Bondi Junction - Oxford Street North is located on the sixth floor of the bustling Westfield shopping centre.

Our purpose built facility is conveniently located in Westfield Bondi Junction, providing easy access to Bondi Junction Terminal for those families who commute into the city
as well as servicing the neighbouring suburbs of Woollahra, Tamarama and Edgecliff. We have designated parking spaces allocated to Goodstart families for quick drop off/collection on R1 of Westfield car park. The centre has high level security, accessible only by video intercom or pin entry.

Our centre prides itself on providing a high quality early learning environment that is physically safe, cognitively challenging and emotionally nurturing. Our vision is for Goodstart Bondi North to become an extension of your family, and we are committed to supporting each child to reach their full potential.

Given that the first five years are critical to a child’s development, our childcare centre is especially focused on fostering nurturing and responsive relationships that support healthy brain development in children, as well as better outcomes for life. To do this effectively, our centre adopts the key educator approach. From the time we first meet your family, your child will have a special ‘someone’ to support the development of a secure attachment.

The indoor learning environments are modern and thoughtfully designed in line with the Early Year's Learning Framework, to enrich learning for all children. Our preschool programs are delivered by university trained early childhood teachers, who offer developmentally appropriate and responsive learning experiences that prepare children for school and life.

Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. We have forts, a small wooden boat, sandpits, slides, worm farm, vege patch and a play kitchen.

Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family. Come in and take a look around, meet the team and explore how we can support your early learning journey.

Amber Zaidi

Centre Director

Hello, my name is Amber and I'm the Centre Director at Goodstart Bondi Junction Oxford Street North.

My name is Amber Zaidi, and I am a passionate and dedicated early childhood teacher with over 17 years of experience shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning. As a mother of teenagers, I understand firsthand the critical role that nurturing and advocacy play in supporting children’s growth, not just within the walls of a centre but also within the broader community. This personal insight drives my professional commitment to creating environments where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore their potential.
For more than a decade, I have served as a Centre Director, a role that has allowed me to refine my leadership skills and build inclusive, nurturing spaces where children, families, and educators thrive together. My approach to leadership is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and an unwavering belief in the transformative power of early education. Whether it's mentoring my team of educators or working closely with families, I strive to empower those around me, fostering partnerships that elevate the quality of care and education we provide.
At the heart of my teaching philosophy is the conviction that educators are instrumental in shaping not only a child’s cognitive and emotional development but also the strength and unity of families. I take immense pride in mentoring my team, offering guidance, support, and inspiration to help them reach their full potential as educators. By cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous learning, I ensure that every child under our care receives the best possible start in life.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I am deeply passionate about community advocacy and believe in championing the rights and needs of young learners. My work extends beyond the classroom as I actively seek opportunities to create lasting, positive change, advocating for policies and practices that prioritize the well-being and success of children.
Through my dedication, experience, and vision, I aim to leave an indelible impact on the lives of children, families, and communities, contributing to a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
