Goodstart Shell Cove

I have been in the early learning industry since 2005 and at our beautiful service since 2006. I have Diploma in Children's services. I joined Goodstart through Mission Australia Early Learning in 2019 and started in my role as Centre Manager on a fulltime basis at Goodstart Shell Cove in 2023.

Management Philosophy:

My management philosophy is centred around creating a supportive and empowering environment that fosters collaboration, growth, and excellence. I believe in leading by example and promoting open communication, trust, and respect among team members.

I value the unique strengths and contributions of each individual on my team. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, I encourage professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. I provide guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.

In summary, my management philosophy revolves around building strong relationships with my team through effective communication, nurturing their growth through ongoing professional development opportunities, promoting a positive work culture rooted in respect and teamwork, setting high standards while offering support along the way.

Education Philosophy:

My education philosophy centres on creating an inclusive learning environment that nurtures every child's holistic development—cognitive, social-emotional physical well-being.

I believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged in hands-on experiences that ignite curiosity promote critical thinking skills. My approach combines play-based learning with intentional teaching strategies tailored to meet individual needs within diverse group settings.
 

Respecting each child as an individual learner is fundamental—I aim to understand their unique interests abilities so that I can tailor instruction accordingly. Building trusting relationships with children allows me to scaffold their learning journeys effectively.

Collaboration between educator’s families plays a vital role; involving parents/guardians as partners helps create continuity between home centre environments supporting children's overall development holistically

Ultimately my goal is to inspire lifelong learners who are confident independent thinkers capable of contributing positively within society—a foundation built upon fostering curiosity, resilience, empathy.
