Goodstart Caloundra

Goodstart Early Learning Caloundra is situated in the heart of Caloundra and is close to shopping centres, schools and public transport.

We provide care and education for children from 15 months to school age.
The centre offers educational programs which are based on the interests of the children and follow the Early Years Learning Framework. We have a fully qualified teacher who provides an accredited Kindergarten program, as well as a fully qualified teacher in Pre-Kindergarten to best set the children up for success.
Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.
Our practice and programming is underpinned by the Key Educator Approach. Key educator relationships enable and support close attachments between educators, children and their family. By being available, sensitive, warm and responsive in understanding the children in small key educator groups, the key educator can provide for attuned, responsive and sufficiently consistent caregiving and intentional insights and contributions to support the child’s learning program.

The centre has a large outdoor play space which has natural shade and play areas. We also have two separate play spaces with plenty of room to run, play and create – with large trees, sandpits, a vegetable garden, worm farm, compost bin and swings. Within our playground we have an Indigenous yarning space, where the children gather daily to do an Acknowledgement to Country, and where they can go to engage in intentional teaching of Aboriginal culture and perspectives.

Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths.

A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, whilst teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society. Our children enjoy regular participation in Beach Kinder – just around the corner!
