Homely and family-orientated, Goodstart Gaven’s families consistently describe our centre as a ‘home away from home’, creating a warm and welcoming environment for our children. This intimate, personal childcare experience is appealing for families looking for a more connected childcare setting.

We offer discounts on multiple days, all-day sessions, discounted shorter sessions, and fee assistance programs for families that need support.
We keep in touch with families via the Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights, newsletters and our Facebook page; to ensure open and clear communication.
This supports us to tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.
We keep families informed with regular updates on their child's progress and we welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.

Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote Key Educator relationships between our educators and children.
Our Key Educator Relationships build strong, secure, reciprocal relationship between each child, their family, and our educators.
Your child will have at least one Key Educator who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them.
Our holistic, high-quality Kindergarten program is led by long-term staff, including two full time Teachers (ECT’s).
The program provides social, emotional, and cognitive growth through a mixture of structured activities and free play that will support your child in learning and prepare them for the transition to school.
We have strong ties with local schools, including Jubilee Primary School.
With our approved kindergarten program, early childhood teachers and long day care hours, we're a great alternative to school-based kindergartens.

My son loves his days that he attends Gaven Goodstart. He talks about his friends and the wonderful activities they do each day. He says in the mornings ‘Im going to see my friends today’ with such joy. It’s lovely knowing he looks forward to his days there and enjoys his friends and educators

Absolutely amazing and great day care center. All the staff there are so loving, caring and amazing they take a very personal interest in you / your kids and make you feel like family not just another family dropping off your children. All the staff make my kids feel so comfortable and happy and welcome them with warm open arms cuddles andnl smiles all the time. There is never a problem with them they are always happy to help out with things. My kids love going to day care every day, they come home really happy and always excited to talk about their fun day. In short the centre and all staff are amazing, we get updates on both kids what they have done for the day for the day what they have eaten. We also get updates from the educators on anything in specific that we may need to know. Love sending my kids there and love all the hard work that the staff and centre do every day. Keep up all the good and hard work.

Rachel Redfern

Centre Director

Hello, I’m Rach and I am the Centre Director here at the wonderful Goodstart Gaven.

I have been blessed to be a part of the Goodstart Gaven team since 2016. I originally started my career as a trainee in 2007 and have enjoyed working in many positions throughout the years and now hold my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and love my position as a Centre Director.

As a Centre Director I endeavour to support educators to build strong key educator relationships with each child so that all children feel happy, secure and supported in their learning environments here at Goodstart Gaven. Our team is filled with Early Childhood Champions from many different backgrounds. We have several long-standing educators that are close to reaching 20 years within our service!
The combined knowledge, love, excitement and dedication to learning in the early years that is embedded in our team, means that every child, regardless of age, ability, background or culture, will be connected with, kept safe, educated and cared for by our amazing educators. We truly believe in giving every child the best possible start to life.

I’m passionate about making meaningful connections with our community so that we can best support our families and contribute to our community in whatever ways we can give back. I believe having strong connections with our community means that we can also provide additional resources and support to our children and families in their own personal journeys. It takes a village, and we want to be an integral part of that village for you and all of our families!

I believe in creating spaces and a place filled with people that makes us feel like a home away from home for our children and their families. Our centre and team would love to welcome you to our Goodstart Gaven family.
