Goodstart Moreton Downs

At Goodstart Early Learning Moreton Downs, you and your child can enjoy the best of both worlds. Our centre offers a Government funded kindergarten and long day care program under the one roof, awarded as “Exceeding National Quality Standard” when our centre was assessed under the National Quality Standards in June 2019.
 
We are a beautiful purpose built centre, operating since September 2004. We are located in the family friendly estate of Moreton Downs in Deception Bay, five minutes from the Bruce Highway and 10 minutes from North Lakes Westfield. With local shops and public transport at our doorstep, everything you need is in the estate. We are also right next door to the Moreton Downs Primary School, where we have an effective transition program allowing the move to “big school” much easier for all parties involved.
 
Many of our wonderful qualified educators have been part of our team for a number of years, providing a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life. We are also fortunate to have Miss Claire, who holds a Bachelor of Education qualification, to implement the Government approved Kindergarten Program in the Kindergarten room. Our centre is able to provide early learning and care for children 6 weeks to 6 years.

With two spacious playgrounds and resources plentiful, each room provides weekly programs that consist of exciting, age appropriate educational activities and experiences covering science, literacy, numeracy, cognitive (thinking) skills, problem solving, computers, multi-cultural diversity and gender equality to promote each child’s individual development. The recent introduction of tablet computers has also allowed our educators to teach children about technology, how to use this and to also have access to the internet to learn and investigate topics raised by the children at the touch of a finger.
 
We believe that all children have the right to an individual opinion, and are treated as individuals with unique personalities. At Goodstart Moreton Downs we support children to grow and learn as they discover their own identity and encourage them to be proud of what makes them unique. We believe that teaching children to foster a healthy lifestyle is important and we promote this valuable life skill by encouraging healthy eating during meal times, engaging the children in physical activities and experiences and teaching about health, nutrition and dental hygiene. We believe that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow and strive to help each child to become well rounded healthy individuals in both body and mind.
 
Our educators understand the important and vital role that they play with supporting and guiding the children’s development in a way that nurtures and allows children to feel safe and secure in their environment whilst continuing to enhance their abilities. With our incorporation of the Early Years Learning Framework into our centre we look forward to assisting the children with belonging, being and becoming of part of their community, environment and the world around them as a whole.
 
Our child care centre prides itself on communication and parent participation. We encourage all families to be active contributors and participate in the everyday running of the centre through our open door policy.
