About our centre

Goodstart Early Learning Sinnamon Park is located in the Western suburbs of Brisbane. Our centre is in a residential area located close to shops, schools and public transport. We are open 52 weeks of the year and only close on public holidays.

Our team of educators have worked thoughtfully to create learning environments that are natural and homely spaces accounting for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths; and with each step we are ensuring the children are ready to take the big step into schooling.

Our child care Centre is licensed for 74 children and we currently have five classrooms ranging from six weeks through to five years – in rooms from Nursery to Kindergarten. Our Centre provides before school care, after school care and vacation care for school age children. This enables us to provide a bus service where we are able to take the school aged children to and from school each day. At present we run this service to Jamboree Heights State School.

All educators hold or are currently studying various qualifications to meet regulatory requirements and to grow their skills. Our educators hold Blue Cards and have current First Aid and CPR certificates.

Outside, we have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam. We are lucky to have three playgrounds in our Centre so that all age groups can strive through their learning.

We use Storypark which is a private online service that helps teachers and families work together to record, share and extend children’s learning.

With a strong focus on connecting with our community – and utilising that connection to enrich the children’s experience - some exciting extra-curricular activities such as Billies Buddies as well as regular visits from special guests and community members.

We provide nutritionally balanced meals made in our Centre each day and can cater for dietary requirements. Our Centre cook has created a wide-ranging, nutritious menu that is reflective of cultural diversity and is respectful to family preferences. We also provide nappies, wipes, sunscreen and hats.

We warmly welcome new families, so please stop by! We would love to explore how we can support you and your child on their pathway to lifelong learning.

Jessica Johns

Centre Director

Hello and Welcome My name is Jessica and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Sinnamon Park.

I have worked in the Early Learning Sector for 18 years, all of those working with Goodstart Early Learning, progressing from Educator to Educational Leader to Assistant Director to Centre Director and I hold my Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

In my approach to Early Learning, I emphasise the importance of providing children with opportunities to explore, discover and build knowledge through hands-on experiences, while fostering strong relationships.  Having grown up in a rural environment, I am particularly passionate about learning through nature and the outdoors, recognising the significant role that outdoor experiences play in a child's development.
Our curriculum and beautiful large playground, which back native parklands, are designed to offer regular opportunities for children to engage with nature, participate in physical activities, and cultivate an appreciation for the environment. This is then reinforced through our approach to sustainability where we Reduce, Recycle and Reuse where possible to create a better world.

I am a proud mother and an animal enthusiast, sharing my home with dogs, horses and other animals. My interests include outdoor activities such as horse riding, golfing, and spending quality time with my family.

At Goodstart Sinnamon Park, we strive to create a learning environment that honours each child's unique needs and interests. Together, we will cultivate a lifelong love for learning, encouraging exploration and joy in the process.
We as a Centre are involved in the Baby Give Back project, where we collect items from our families donating them to vulnerable families. Baby Give Back is a Queensland charity with a mission to give children an equal start in life by providing material basics (like clothing and nappies) to vulnerable families.
We also are a drop off point for The Nappy Collective, this project is all year-round collecting nappies that are no longer needed and are given vulnerable families.

We are excited to invite you to Sinnamon Park to show you around and to meet our team of passionate educators.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!
