Goodstart Strathfieldsaye

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre is situated in the semi rural suburb of Strathfieldsaye about 7kms from the Bendigo CBD, close to local schools and shops. Some of our surrounding suburbs include Strathdale, Lake Eppalock, Junortoun, Axe Creek, Mosquito Creek and Axedale.

We are a 98 place long day care centre. We operate all year around excluding public holidays. We provide care for children aged from six weeks to six years old. We also provide Before and After School Care for children that attend Strathfieldsaye and St Francis Primary School. 

Inside, all of the rooms  - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning and an emergent curriculum.
 
Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights, , enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Our three playground areas feature sandpits, herb gardens, vege patch, a fort, fruit trees, mud kitchen and lots of shaded play area.

We also have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide progressive breakfast buffet, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The meals that we provide are healthy and nutritious and we also cater for children who have allergies to certain foods.

Community is also important to us and through visits to the centre and participation in events and activities throughout the year we are able to enrich the learning experience. Art and music experiences are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
