Goodstart Wendouree

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Wendouree is situated on the business main street in Ballarat, close to local businesses such as Medical Centres, High schools and Shopping Centres.  The Centre is also within close vicinity to beautiful Lake Wendouree.

Our centre opened in February 1996 and our Centre caters for children from 6 weeks to 5years and we have a funded kindergarten program for the 4 years to 5 years.

Goodstart Early Learning Wendouree is a smaller centre allowing us to provide you with a very personalised childcare experience.

Most of our educators have worked at our centre for more than six years, which allows us to build strong and lasting relationships with families thus providing a stable environment for children in our care.  We have a Bachelor qualified Kindergarten teacher, 6 Diploma qualified educators at and 3 studying towards their Diploma.  All our assistant educators have their cert III.

Our team prides itself on creating a homely environment for our children and a stimulating environment to learn.

Inside, all of the rooms  - from Nursery to Kindergarten / Preschool - are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning; and we are focused on ensuring the children are ready to take that all important step up to school.

Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, we have age appropriate play spaces and equipment, all geared to enhance the children’s awareness of their surrounds and the greater environment, as well as their understanding of the importance of sustainability. Children are encouraged to use their imagination by adding to our fairy garden and looking after our animals. Our play area is packed with fun, with sandpits, cubbyhouses, stage area, mud pit, vege patch, worm farm and compost and lots of shaded space.

Our philosophy is that true learning about ourselves and the world is only limited by our ability to imagine and dream.

All meals are prepared on site by our qualified cook who uses tasty, fresh and nutritional ingredients – just the thing to keep hungry tummies satisfied.

A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Through visits to the centre as well as excursions and participation in community events, we are able to deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
