Goodstart Hope Island

Goodstart Early Learning Hope Island is a family orientated centre located in the heart of Monterey Keys just minutes from the M1. Our families benefit from our centre having ample off street parking and being walking distance from public transport and the local Shopping Village.

To us, every child is important and our aim is to support children’s desire to be life-long learners and to develop life-skills.

Our Educators show genuine love and care for all children allowing them to feel secure, confident and valued. We implement the Key Educator approach at our centre and this enables our children to have consistency in care and our families develop a meaningful relationship with our Educators.

We offer care for children from Nursery to Kindergarten in comfortably appointed rooms which allow us to offer a variety of play based early learning activities.

The sun safe playground has recently been renovated and includes age appropriate toys and areas such as rock gardens, herb garden and orange trees which are regularly used by our children for imaginative play and natural wonder.

We align our education program with the Early Years Learning Framework and regularly monitor against the AEDC data to ensure positive educational outcomes for our children. We provide an environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace and offer activities in all key areas including; science, diversity, gender equality and computers. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is integrated into our daily program and we participate in NAIDOC Week celebrations

In our centre we implement the Positive Living Skills Program which is sponsored FSG Australia. The program focuses on teaching children to identify their feelings so they can feel confident in themselves and with their emotions. We involve our families in this process with regular newsletters explaining the process to work together as a community to build resilience and enable our children to make a positive transition to Primary School.

This approach has led to the Goodstart Hope Island Educators receiving nominations for 2016 and 2017 Australian Family Early Education and Care Awards. We aim to provide a safe space for families to communicate and grow.

We have an open door policy and encourage our families to be actively involved in the centre.
