Goodstart Braddon

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Braddon is located in the quiet suburb of Braddon two kilometres north of Canberra's CBD.

Goodstart Braddon boasts nearby attractions such as a wide open park for children to explore, and close access to cafes and shops. We are also within walking distance to the City Centre Mall with Floriade just a few short blocks away.

We are a nationally Accredited centre, open 52 weeks of the year except public holidays. Our opening hours are from 7.30am to 6pm.

We are an 84 place child care centre with four rooms. Each room provides an Early Years Learning Framework (ELYF) program specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of the children in the room. Our three to five years’ rooms provide a program that aims to build the learning foundations for these children to go to school.

Our Storypark platform, as well as regular family nights and emailed newsletters, enable us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths – as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

Outside, our playground areas are a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with sandpits, natural gardens and lots of shade. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam.

We also have a cook on premises five days a week and we provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. The meals that we provide are healthy and nutritious and we also cater for children who have allergies to certain foods.

Our room leaders have either a Diploma in children's services or are on their way to completing this qualification and most assistants in the centre are currently studying their Certificate III in children's services.

A major focus for our centre is how working with the broader community can help us enrich the children’s learning experience. Art and music experiences – as well as a number of extra-curricular activities - are provided on a daily basis which allow the children to freely express their creativity.
