Welcome to Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Woolner.

We pride ourselves on our cozy, safe, and nurturing, ‘home-away-from-home’ environment, with a spacious yard tucked away from the road, and just three rooms with a maximum of 60-children.

Our passionate, long-standing team of qualified educators build strong connections with our families and children, ensuring every child feels valued, supported and encouraged to thrive.

Each child is paired with a key educator in their room, fostering a sense of safety and security. This consistency helps children to thrive, supported by a dedicated team that provides exceptional care and encourages their confidence to grow.

At Goodstart Woolner our we provide high quality early learning and care from birth to five years. Our curriculum, from Nursery to Preschool, is based on the Early Years’ Learning Framework and caters for each child’s individual interests, needs and strengths. We are passionately committed to empowering children to learn-through-play, and to helping children grow with confidence and independence, while ensuring they feel valued, safe and respected.
Safety is our top priority. Our centre is intentionally designed to make the best use of our early learning resources, and our settings are enriching and engaging. The three classrooms are bright, airy and lead out to the spacious yard, located away from the road. The yard is home to lots of fun learning experiences including waterplay, messy play, exploring nature, art and craft, dancing, construction, quiet reading spaces, yoga and meditation, bird baths where the children love to watch the birds come in for a drink and splash, and gardening fun!
Lead by Miss Rosey, Master of Teaching Early Childhood and Education & Educational Leadership, our preschool program equips children with the confidence, independence and knowledge to be school-ready.
Miss Rosey believes in enabling children to grow with curious minds by providing them open ended learning experiences, many opportunities to wonder, explore, ask questions and to develop their ability to think critically and solve problems. She adapts her lessons to the children’s interests and learning styles to make learning fun and accessible. Miss Rosey ensures the children’s big ideas are counted and are important.
We provide long day care with convenient hours, open Monday to Friday from 6.45am to 5.30pm (except public holidays). We can help you find the right session for your family as we offer 9-hour, 10 hour and all-day sessions to help you make the most of your Child Care Subsidy.
We offer:

• Fee assistance programs for families.
A major focus for our centre is working with the broader community to help us enrich the children’s learning experiences. Through visits to the centre, and participation in community events, we deepen the relationship between the centre and the community, while teaching the children about being a contributing and active member of society.
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, and we understand the importance of strong connections between the children and our educators. We keep families informed with regular updates on their child's progress and we welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities. 
This is made simpler through our ‘Storypark’ platform, which enables us to maintain consistent and clear communications with families. That means we are better placed to support a child in their learning journey, ensure parents have peace of mind, and time stamp the children’s developments, milestones and achievements.

This Centre is amazing. The educators are caring, inclusive and approachable to talk to about anything. My little boy absolutely loves Miss Ruvini and all the preschool staff who have created a beautiful bond with him. The engagement with all the children and educators is so very special and lovely to watch.

They always know your child and teach them new skills every day. Your child will love attending each day and trust me you will have a harder time trying to get them to leave! Centre Director

Hello! I’m Sherre, the Centre Director at Goodstart Woolner. My passion for working with children has been a constant throughout my career. I find immense joy in supporting and guiding children on their journey through life. I also believe that building strong relationships with families is crucial, as they are the children's first teachers.

My background: I was born and raised in Darwin; I’ve spent my entire life here. I received my Diploma of Children's Services in 2011 and have dedicated over 15 years to the Early Learning sector, taking on various roles from kitchen duties to working my way up to Centre Director.

My personal philosophy: I believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where they can thrive. By supporting their growth through play, trusting relationships and inclusivity, I aim to lay a strong foundation for their future learning and development.

What I love about Goodstart Woolner: At our centre, we pride ourselves on being a truly family-oriented community. We believe in fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and connected. Here, we refer to each other as family, reflecting the trust and togetherness that define our environment. This strong sense of togetherness not only enhances our teamwork but also creates a nurturing space for the children and families who attend our Centre, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and supported in their journey with us.

My commitment to you: As the Centre Director, my primary goal is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for every child. I believe that each child is unique, and it is essential for them to feel safe, valued, and connected to our Woolner family. By fostering a sense of belonging, I strive to ensure that every child can explore, learn, and grow confidently. Our space is designed to engage their curiosity and creativity, allowing them to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Together, we will celebrate their individuality while building a strong, supportive community that empowers each child to reach their fullest potential.
