About our centre

Welcome to Goodstart Cowandilla!

We’re an early learning and long day care centre built on Kaurna land, just off Sir Donald Bradman Drive, close to public transport, local shops and schools.

Our service has two nurturing nurseries for babies – our littlest learners, two toddler rooms, and two preschool classrooms. We can’t wait to show you around. Why not book a tour?

Each of our nature-inspired learning spaces has direct access to a landscaped outdoor environment. This design provides children with the opportunity to move easily between indoors and out.

Join our families and experience the warm welcome of Goodstart Cowandilla. During your tour, we’ll encourage your child to engage with their future room and meet our friendly educators.

Our multicultural staff speak many languages including English, so they can help families in our community settle in. We have Sanskrit, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, and Vietnamese-speaking educators.

Most team members have been at the centre since it opened five years ago. One of our teachers has been at Goodstart for 20 years.

Discover our clean, serene environments – each designed to engage, challenge, and excite the children throughout each developmental stage. 

Our beautiful outdoor dining hub provides a dedicated space for meals with child-height servery, which allows our cook to serve and engage our children in cooking and preparing meals.

We offer many incursions, such as Happy Feet dancing, cooking with children, a library truck, a fire truck, and the local police.

My little one has been there for almost two years! They are like a family, and I couldn’t be happier with their kindness and care! Always walk the extra mile and adjust to our requests and needs. I love their positive behaviour approach and really appreciate how Shikha and Om have made a difference in my child’s life. At Goodstart Cowandilla, our philosophy centres around the belief that every child is a unique individual with their own interests and strengths. We embrace a play-based learning approach that nurtures curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their world in meaningful ways.

Through our philosophy, we aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive and become confident, capable learners. 
Children need to feel safe and supported to learn and grow, so we promote key educator relationships between our educators and children. Your child will have at least one educator (their key educator) who takes them under their wing and really gets to know them. 
Our Key Educator relationships help children form secure attachments. Educators work closely with smaller groups and individual children to better understand each child. These relationships lead to improved outcomes for children as we foster more communication between families and educators. 
We inform families regularly about their child's progress and welcome family involvement in our centre events and activities.  
At our Cowandilla centre, we're proud to inspire your child's love of learning with the support of our passionate and qualified early childhood experts. Teachers with bachelor's degrees run our preschool program, so children can be well on their way to excellent learning outcomes by the time they start reception.

Centre Director

Hi, my name is Alline, and I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Cowandilla.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I feel privileged to utilise my knowledge and skills to help young children explore and learn about themselves and the world around them. I love being part of the wonderful Goodstart Cowandilla community!

I believe that it takes a village to raise a child and that relationships built on trust lay the foundation for everything. I enjoy watching the children in our care grow and develop each day and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child learn with passion and wonder.

I understand the importance of building strong relationships with the children, families and team and my priority is always to build a trusting and caring environment in which the children, families and team can thrive. I believe family and community involvement is essential for providing high quality education and care.

At Goodstart Cowandilla, children are seen as unique individuals with a great capacity to learn and make positive contributions to those around them. We strive to provide an inclusive environment built on respect where everyone is welcomed and accepted.

We pride ourselves on having devoted and dedicated educators who have been in the service for years, creating a sense of comfort and familiarity for all families and children. Our classrooms and learning environments are extensions of the children’s homes.

I'm always so impressed by the amazing array of activities provided by the amazing educators at Goodstart Cowandilla. We were uncertain about putting our child in at such a young age, but the educators at this centre have truly gone above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, and help our son develop.
