The decision to offer sponsorship is made collaboratively by our Centre Directors, State Teams, and in response to the current needs of the individual centre.
Our Process
- Application: Start by applying for a position that aligns with your qualifications. Browse our current job opportunities here.
- Qualification and Role Assessment: Once your application is received, our Talent Acquisition Team will evaluate whether your qualifications are ACECQA-recognised and if you meet the role requirements. This may include an initial phone screening.
- Migration Team Request: If you pass the initial screening, our Talent team will review the sponsorship request with the Centre Director, and if the centre is able to support it, they will arrange an interview. If you pass the interview they may submit it for an initial eligibility assessment for sponsorship with the Goodstart Migration team.
- Eligibility Assessment: Our Migration Team will conduct a preliminary assessment of your eligibility. This may lead to a more formal eligibility review with Goodstart’s Migration Lawyers.
Please note that meeting eligibility criteria does not automatically guarantee sponsorship. Internal approvals and processes are required before proceeding with a formal sponsorship application.
Key Information You Need to Know
At Goodstart, we understand the complexities of securing a role in the early childhood education sector. Here’s what you need to know if you’ve already moved to Australia and are considering a career with us:
Qualifications and ACECQA Recognition
To work in early childhood education in Australia, your qualifications must be recognised by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). If your qualifications are from overseas, we recommend that you begin the process of getting your qualifications assessed by ACECQA.
Documentation Required:
- Working With Children Check: You will need this state-based clearance to work in Australia - processing times can vary by state.
- NESA Accreditation: For roles in New South Wales, you’ll need to apply for accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
- Vaccinations: Ensure you have up-to-date vaccinations as required by Australian health and safety standards including measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) and whooping cough.
