Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a Traineeship at Goodstart, you must be an Australian citizen, a person granted permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen who entered Australia on a valid passport. The Australian Government requires that New Zealand citizens have been residents in Australia for more than six months. If you are a Visa holder, you must be able to work and study in Australia, and the duration of the Traineeship must match the length of your Visa.
To participate in our Traineeship program, you will be required to:
- Enrol in the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education funded by Goodstart (eligibility criteria applies)
- Commit to an 18-month fixed-term contract
- Be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week (apart from school-based Trainees)
- Complete a 6-week ‘out of ratio’ induction period with dedicated off-the-floor time
- Commit to completing your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
What you'll need to get started
Before beginning your Traineeship journey, make sure you have the following documents ready:
- A Working with Children clearance relevant to your state requirements
- A full Australian Birth Certificate or Passport AND a form of photo ID
- Your resume
- Evidence of immunisation against whooping cough, measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR)
